Privacy Policy

How First Choice Ambulance handles information for its employee text-message program.

Effective October 5, 2026. This policy applies to First Choice Ambulance employee SMS alerts. It supplements our website privacy notice; it is not a patient privacy notice.

Information we collect

We collect an employee’s name, mobile number, employee identifier when provided, consent choice, signature, and consent date. We retain the signed paper form or its scanned copy and records of consent changes. When messaging is enabled, messaging records may include message content, sending and delivery status, timestamps, and replies such as STOP or HELP.

How we use information

We use this information to verify permission, send employee shift reminders, schedule changes, run-assignment notifications, maintenance alerts, certification reminders, and operational notices; provide support; record delivery issues; and honor opt-outs. Ordinary texts will not contain patient names or clinical details. Employees use the secure employee application for run details.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell mobile information. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties for their own purposes. Messaging and technical service providers, including Twilio and mobile carriers, may process only the information needed to deliver, secure, and support the messaging service on our behalf. We may disclose information when required by law.

Consent and your choices

Employees opt in using our paper consent form: enter a mobile number, check the optional YES box, and sign and date it. Neither choice is preselected. Management verifies affirmative consent before enabling texts and keeps the form in restricted employee records. SMS participation is voluntary and is not a condition of employment or employee application access. Established non-SMS communication methods remain available.

Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance once the program is active. You can also withdraw consent, correct your number, or request information about your records by contacting your supervisor, station manager, or the contact below. Notify us if your number changes. We retain an opt-out record as needed to prevent further messages.

Protection and retention

Completed forms and scans are for authorized personnel only and are not published on this website. We limit access to personnel and service providers who need the information for the program. We retain records as needed to administer alerts, document consent and withdrawal, resolve issues, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations, then securely dispose of records no longer needed. No transmission or storage method is completely secure.

SMS program terms

Message frequency varies with schedules, assignments, and responsibilities. Message and data rates may apply. This program does not send marketing messages. Delivery may be delayed or unavailable; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Texts do not replace established urgent dispatch, radio, telephone, or emergency procedures. Do not send patient information by SMS. The program will begin only after registration and configuration are complete.
